Postdoctoral Research Assistant Position in Biopolymer Science, Chemical Engineering and/or Food Science at the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

 

Overview:

  • Full-time, 3 year Fixed Term position
  • Salary Level Academic Level A  + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Based at the Choose an item campus Bundoora, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University. 

 

About You

The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy.  It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have / you’ll have as a minimum:

  • Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the fields of Biopolymer Science, Chemical Engineering and/or Food Science.
  • Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate timely and efficiently with industry and the project team to ensure project milestones are met.

Mandatory Requirement:

PhD in the relevant discipline area (e.g. Biopolymer Science, Chemical Engineering and/or Food Science). Applicants who are near completion of their PhD degree may be also considered.
