Project Description

  1. The project aims to characterise the mechanical and degradation behaviour of biodegradable polymers for biomedical, sustainable packaging and agriculture applications.
  2. The project will focus on identifying and quantifying coupled chemo-mechanical effects that impact the performance and service life of biodegradable devices.
  3. Your task will be to design and independently run experiments to elucidate these coupled effects, including degradation studies under mechanical loads or in the presence of geometric imperfections.
  4. You will also participate in ongoing modelling efforts in the group for these polymers.
  5. You will have the opportunity to be involved in undergraduate and graduate supervision and teaching.
